Getting a stunning custom pet portrait starts with one thing — a great photo. Here's exactly how to photograph your pet for the best possible result.

## 1. Use Natural Light
Take your photo near a window or outside in soft daylight. Avoid harsh flash — it creates red-eye and flat shadows. Morning or late afternoon light is perfect.

## 2. Get Eye Level With Your Pet
Crouch down to your pet's level. Eye-level photos capture personality and depth. Overhead shots rarely work well for portraits.

## 3. Focus on the Eyes
Sharp, clear eyes are the most important element. Tap your phone screen on your pet's eye to lock focus there.

## 4. Use Portrait Mode
If your phone has Portrait Mode, use it. It creates a soft background blur that makes your pet pop.

## 5. Keep It Simple
A plain background — grass, wall, or floor — works best. Busy backgrounds distract from your pet's face.

## 6. Capture Their Personality
A mid-yawn, a head tilt, or those puppy eyes — candid moments make the best portraits. Have treats ready and shoot in burst mode.

## 7. Make Sure It's High Resolution
Zoom with your feet, not the camera. Walking closer gives a sharper image than digital zoom.
